Central Standard Timing announced the start of the thinnest watch in the world, the CST-01. At 0.8 mm thickness, it is thinner than a credit card and is possible by integrating the E Ink electronic paper display.
The components are assembled in a pocket of 0.5 mm which corresponds to a single piece of flexible stainless steel.
It has an onboard micro-energy cell Thinergy that loads from an external docking station within 10 minutes, running for more than a month and has a lifespan of 15 years. This is really a watch of a time investment that lasts for 15 years without any concern to change the batteries.
The watch is available online for $ 129 on Kickstarter and should be available from Q2 2013.
